Hidden Gems!

Kasteel de Haar, Oud Zuilen,  Loenen a/d Vecht

If you want to get away from the cities hustle & bustle, today you can immerse yourself in the Dutch countryside along the river Vecht and enjoy the hidden gems you’ll find along the way.

One of those hidden gems is De Haar Castle. Stroll through the park and admire its rich history. Behind every door, every detail, every flower in its colorful gardens is a story. A story about earlier times, different cultures and interesting characters. De Haar is the largest castle in the Netherlands, once the private residence of the Van Zuylen family, whose descendants still stay here yearly. In the last century, the castle also frequently hosted members of the international jet set with their lavish lifestyle; from Coco Chanel to Roger Moore, they too left their mark on the sumptuous rooms of the most opulent spot in Utrecht.

Time to sit back a little and relax! For lunch, there is a variety of options along the river waterfront with lovely views and great food. On our way back along the riverside, we will pass several quaint little towns, some magnificent houses and the for Holland so typical countryside.
